Melissa Black is a woman of few words and even fewer friends. Not that she’s complaining. Considering all she’s accomplished, all work and no play are words to live by. Shooting for the moon led her land among the stars as an astrophysicist. On top of that, she breaks new altitudes on the Air Force. And she isn’t even 30. From sleepless study habits to army crawls on dirt roads, she’s soared above and beyond time and again. So, why the hell should she care when the man who took her virginity twelve years ago flies back in her life?
The Blacks are all Kingsley Hastings has. They weren’t just neighbors. They were the family he’d never had, but always wanted. He’d found a real friend in Lionel and General Black had pledged a paternal promise. But it was Melissa who’d given him his real taste of pleasure all those years ago. Too bad that taste came too little, too late. Searching for a life beyond the base, he was set to leave town the next day. He should’ve known better. Now, his father’s funeral brings him back to the barracks—and he’s determined to make things right.

“Eva, are you here?” I wait for a few moments to pass, praying she’s not really gone, that she’ll appear beside me and wake me from the nightmare I’m stuck in.
“What do I do? How can I come back to living? I have nothing left, mon amour. You left me and took my heart with you. I know you didn’t want to leave, but you’re gone and I don’t know what to do. You were the only thing that ever made sense, and now you’re no longer with me. I don’t know how to go through the next forty or fifty years without you.” I look up at the majestic moon. Maybe she can give me some insight as to why I’m still breathing. “I’m struggling, mon amour, really struggling. Every moment of the day I think of you, and I pray my time to find you is near. Please tell me, whisper a word, touch me with your warmth, anything. I just need you to guide me through this. I need my angel’s soft voice to take my pain away.” A gentle wind kisses my cheeks, softly drifting around me, caressing my skin with tenderness. I blink quickly and stand, leaning my arms against the railing. “Are you here?” I ask quietly, hoping to hear her voice just one more time. “What can I do to touch you? Even for one short moment, to see you, to hold you, to kiss your warm lips, just one more time.” The wind tenderly embraces me, enveloping me in a sensation so intense my heart begins to pound inside my chest. “Show me what I need to do,” I beg the breeze. It continues to dance around me, stopping for a moment only to start again with the same delicate choreography. She’s here, she must be. I’ve called on Eva for help, and she’s here to save me. “Mon amour,” I whisper as I close my eyes. A delicate floral scent floats past me. I catch just a small whiff of it and know my love is near. “Help me survive,” I sigh, hoping Eva can help me rip down the walls I’ve built so high around me. I stretch out my arms while tilting my head up toward the sky. “Show me,” I say in a breathless whisper. A tingle runs over my exposed throat, a soft, small brush awakening the life inside me. Buried deep inside this dead body, a tiny flicker tries to illuminate my dying soul. The curtain of gloom is struggling to lift. Deep inside, I can feel it trying to fight the pull of the heavy weight. A flashback to our wedding takes me back to the day Eva walked toward me, her hair loosely falling over her shoulders, a ring of daisies around her head, her feet bare as she walked in the sand holding one single yellow tulip. Her smile was so beautiful; her eyes alive and full of love. Eva shyly lowered her gaze as she glided to me, the rays of the sun sweeping over her blonde hair and making her look like she had a halo guiding her to me. The smell of the ocean intoxicated us as the salt clung to our lips. “I’ll never fall as long as you are near.” It was a sentence I had meant with every fibre of my being when I spoke during our exchange of wedding vows. I can feel the tears breaking through. I let them roll down my cheeks, allowing me to remember the good times, the loving times. The love we shared, the way my heart ached for her touch, how my blood heated whenever Eva was near me, the small smiles she’d give me when she thought I wasn’t watching, falling asleep holding hands and knowing we’d never let go. “I’m sorry I let you down. I’ve fallen and I don’t know how to stand again.” The wind swirls around me, nuzzling close to me, gently stroking me, encouraging me with love and the strength to rise and finally breathe. “I will try to stand without you. I’ll try and make you proud of the man you married. I am so sorry for giving up.”

There's something about the written word that is pure magic. Possibly it's the fact there are 26 letters in the English alphabet, and they can create something so beautiful or so empowering they're capable to change our lives. How important is it that we break suit and stretch our minds? I like to think of myself as 'unique'. My stories aren't for everyone, and sometimes I may push what you believe to be 'normal'. Normal is subjective. I prefer to be known as a person who's never been 'bound by custom' but is 'unique by choice'. I hope you do read and enjoy my stories.

As I listened, I couldn’t fight back the tears that suddenly threatened to choke me. From the first note that left Axton Cage’s mouth, I knew that there was no way OtherWorld wouldn’t go far with this guy front and center for them. He wasn’t just good; the man had a fucking gift. And it broke my heart into a million pieces. One look at OtherWorld performing with Axton singing their songs and any manager with a working brain would sign them on the spot.
Swallowing hard, I glanced at Noah. The look on his face was a mixture of amazement and gut-wrenching pain. He knew as well as I did—as well as everyone in the room—that not only was Axton going to fit with the band, but that this guy was better than even he had ever hoped to be. The pain in my heart at the knowledge that I was even closer to losing Zander than I had been just thirty minutes ago, doubled at the pain my beloved brother was going through right then. The Aerosmith song faded easily into the Skynyrd song, “Free Bird,” and even though Axton’s vocal range changed, it only showed just how talented he really was. I lowered my gaze to the floor, hiding the tears that were so close to spilling over. I wanted so hard to hate Axton, wanted it with every fiber of my being, but I couldn’t. None of the pain I was feeling was his fault. He’d just shown up to a freaking audition, unknowingly ripping my heart from my chest with that amazing voice of his, and shattered it into a million little pieces. I couldn’t hate him. Not when he was going to help the man I loved succeed in his goals. Skynyrd drifted seamlessly into Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” with Wroth’s talented fingers. Glancing at Zander, watching him keep beat with the bass, seeing how much he loved being a part of this music world, I lost the battle. One tear escaped from my eyes and was quickly followed by a hundred more. I stood, keeping my face averted from everyone as I went into the bedroom and shut the door quietly behind me.
I quickly tore off my clothes as I entered the bathroom. Turning on the shower, I climbed in before the water even had time to warm. My knees gave out and I slid down in the corner of the tub, letting the cold water beat down on me as the first sob tore my heart loose from my chest. Pulling my knees up to my chest, I hid my face in my raised thighs and cried for the loss of the man who wasn’t even gone yet.

What would you do if a five hundred year old witch wanted to turn your body into her new home?
Morcant and Blake Korrigan own a little shop of horrors, where witches congregate and people ending up dead isnât rare. When Karen Hiltzman joins their coven, she has no idea what sheâs getting into. Drawn in, the group convinces her to recruit her best friend, Sarah Matthews, after discovering that she bears a very special birthmark; one that indicates sheâs the girl theyâve been waiting for.
Eager to reincarnate a witch put to death by an angry mob five hundred years prior, Morcant unleashes a spell; a dark and sinister curse. His ritual transforms Sarahâs body and will bring the dreaded Brenna back to life when itâs completed. Blake wants to stop him; but will he be strong enough to defeat his elder sibling, and if he does⦠will he be able to let her go when itâs done?

Filling the kettle and placing it on the stove, Karen recalled the meeting with the group, when their plans had been placed into motion. She had mentioned Sarahâs birthmark to Ninia before, pointing out how it looked so much like a swirling spirituality symbol. However, it wasnât until Genevieve had gotten wind of the oddity that any real interest had stirred within the crowd, and they had asked her to bring Sarah in to meet them.
âYou arenât going to hurt her, are you?â Karen had asked hesitantly. âOf course not!â Genevieve had soothed. âWe want to set her free!â The young womanâs lips had parted into a small grin as she spoke, exposing her straight white teeth. Karen stared at her pan with large brown orbs, her mind trapped in that moment. âIt wonât be easy,â she had replied, âShe hasnât believed in any of this stuff in years.â She shuddered and adjusted the fire before her. âThatâs ok,â Morcant had cut in, stepping up to her and allowing his fingers to trace her jaw. âWeâll convince her; no need to worry about that.â Leaning closer, his mouth had covered hers in a soft kiss. Drawn to the older man, Karen had felt as if his spirit mingled with hers. Deepening the kiss, she had moaned and pressed her body against him for a long moment before he pulled away. âSee?â his nose nuzzled her cheek, âThis is a warm and safe placeâ¦â he had paused, extracting himself from her grasp, âBring your friend; allow her to experience the feel of the coven and to be wrapped in its power.â The sound of the boiling water drew her back to the present, and Karen cut off the flame. She poured the hot liquid into her waiting cup, adding a few cubes of sugar before she took a seat at the kitchen table and stared out the tiny window that overlooked a small grassy patch behind the house; 'you shouldnât let him do that to you.' Several times over the last year, she had been in such a situation with the group; a point where she felt trepidation and fear at what lay before her. Each time, it had been Morcant who had spurred her onward. 'His touch is intoxicating,' she admitted quietly to herself. 'His fingers caress with the feel of magic,' and the kiss had put her over the edge. 'Of course itâs magic;' her mood shifted to angry, 'theyâre witches, after all!' But this had gotten out of hand. At some point, it had become too real, and she no longer wanted to be a part of it. However, she could not escape. It felt as if Morcant had her in his grasp, under some dark spell, and she would do his bidding. Taking another tentative sip, she cut her eyes up at the ceiling above her, as if she could see her friend in her tiny room on the third floor. 'I wonder what they really want with her.' She hadnât dared to ask, and had done her best to convince Sarah to attend a meeting with her of her own free will. In the end, the girl had refused, and put them on their current path; 'theyâre going to have her, willing or not.' It had taken all Karenâs strength to complete her task today, and remember not to touch the shiny medallion that Morcant had presented to her. He had cursed it somehow, and she had noticed that he took great care when he placed it in the bag for Sarah. 'A powerful amulet, he said.' Dragging her gaze back to the glass and the sunshine beyond, she tried not to think about what would happen next.

Weird Facts About Witches:
As part of the infamous âswimming test,â accused witches were dragged to the nearest body of water, stripped to their undergarments, bound and then tossed in to to see if they would sink or float. Since witches were believed to have spurned the sacrament of baptism, it was thought that the water would reject their body and prevent them from submerging. According to this logic, an innocent person would sink like a stone, but a witch would simply bob on the surface. The victim typically had a rope tied around their waist so they could be pulled from the water if they sank, but it wasnât unusual for accidental drowning deaths to occur.
Anyone who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never met a stranger and take up conversations any where at any time. I work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be dealt with. Of course that means much of my books were written in the middle of the night.
I grew up and still live in the great state of Texas where everything is bigger, where we have warm weather and a central location. I love my state, my town, and my family, which includes my four sons, my significant other, and many friends as well. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the books that are currently available and hope you will enjoy reading them just as much. And of course, there will be many more stories to come.

He rose through the ranks, soon becoming a valued member of one of Russia’s most feared organizations—Vory V Zakone, Thieves in Law. Soon after, her life was set on a one track course, right down to her chosen profession as a third generation police officer. It did not take long for Josslyn to form a prestigious career. She owed her success to the unrelenting drive to do whatever it takes to capture the worst criminals. It was the tragic murder of an unknown family that sent these two powerhouse individuals on a collision course toward their opposing fate. Lucas’ hands tightened on my shoulders. He was waiting for an answer. Mutely, I looked away. But not so far that I couldn’t see his reaction. His expression darkened. I shivered as his gazed moved over me, at once icy in intent and flaming hot. “That’s how you want to play it?” he asked. Play it? I wasn’t playing, not remotely. I was…drowning? No, that couldn’t be right because I was catching fire, ignited by him, by my own desires and by something more that I didn’t dare name. “I’m not--” I got that much out before his mouth closed on mine, rough, hard, demanding. His tongue thrust deep, filling me with his taste, claiming me. For just an instant I hesitated, remembering my hard won independence, the ring fence of old pain separating me from the world. Then it crumbled and I opened for him, giving him with my body what I couldn’t admit to with words.

Samantha Marie Ramsden has three brothers. Craig, John and Matt. When tragedy strikes their family, Craig takes on the task of becoming his siblings legal guardian. It’s hard enough being someone’s guardian, but when you’ve only recently entered adulthood yourself it’s almost impossible to know where to draw the line between sibling and ‘parent’.
This is made even harder on him when Sam starts to get close to a long time friend, Jason. It looks like their friendship could turn into something more. An idea that Craig has never been too happy with. Spanning six years, My Heart is Yours explores family, friendship, love and much more. As well as asking the question: Would you defy family for love?
Prologue
Five and a half year old Samantha slept in her white threadbare sheets. Tonight the wind was coming through particularly strong from the cracks in the wooden boards on her window. Her small body shivered.
The door creaked open and her mother entered. Sam had the same blonde hair as her mother. Her eyes were her own though. Changing from blue, to grey, to blue-grey, to green or any combination of these colors seemingly simultaneously. Sandra’s hand approached her daughter’s shoulder and she shook her roughly awake. The clock on the wall read three o’ clock in the morning. Sam rubbed her eyes. “Come on!” Her mother said as she looked over her shoulder. “Get out of bed, now!” She grabbed a hammer from the toolbox they kept in Sam’s room, went to the boarded up window and started tearing the boards to the floor. Wood splintered through the air. “Go on.” She gestured to the window. “Get out. Go.” Sam hesitated for half a second then climbed through. She knew she couldn’t ask questions. She got into trouble when she asked questions. Sandra wiggled through the window; she cursed aloud as the glass cut her shoulder. “Don’t try to run away from me!” The hoarse shout came from behind them. Sam’s father. Sam knew what it meant when he was like this. Sandra pushed Sam into the car, ran to the other side and jumped in. “Mommy.” Sam said as they went speeding past houses. “What’s wrong?” “If you must know, your father’s more drunk than usual. He has a gun and he says he’s gonna kill us. Satisfied?” Sam’s eyes widened as she looked in the rearview mirror. There was a car right on their tail. Sam stretched in the front seat to see who it was; she recognized the face of her father. “Mommy!” She yelled. Her mother ignored her. “The only reason I’m taking you with me is cuz as a single parent with no job I might get some money from the government.” “Mommy!” She yelled again. “Otherwise I’d just let him kill you.” The car stopped, jolted forward and stopped again. “Damn it. We’re out of gas.” Sam’s mom muttered. Sirens wailed in the background. Beside them, Sam heard the screech of tires. Blonder hair hit Sam’s face as she turned her head toward the noise. In the car beside them her father scooted across the front seats; his eyes wild with rage. A flash of black came from behind him. Sandra frantically tried to get the car started. Too late. An arm shot out around her neck; holding her fast. Her husband held the shiny black gun to her head and before Sam could scream from the sound, the trigger boomed and her mother’s body slumped over on the steering wheel. Deep red blood gushed out of her head forming a pool on the floor. Before Sam climbed out of the car window, her father’s eyes met hers. There was nothing there. No sorrow, no fear, no pain, no love. Nothing. The source of the sirens came to their side. Two police cars with their lights flashing and sirens wailing. Sam clasped her little hand around the handle on the car door; the door opened easily and she fell out onto the cold asphalt. Her eyes took in a small bush about a yard away. She scurried to it and hid within it’s hard branches, lush with dark green leaves. A young policeman shot out of his squad car and saw Sam scurry out of the corner of his eye. This was one of his first times being called – he had only recently graduated from the police academy. He had never seen such devastation. Sure, he thought, compared to a war zone this is nothing. But I’ve never seen a husband murder his wife before. With a little girl hiding in the bushes. He shook his head. All of this went through his mind before he crossed to the bush where Sam was hiding. She tried to run but he gently caught her arm. “It’s okay, sweetie.” He said. “We’re here to help.” Her big, sad eyes stared up at him. He tried to offer her a reassuring smile, but he was rather sure that it came out more like a grimace. He picked her up and walked her over to the other policemen. Sam was taken to an orphanage about an hour and a half away. Six months later she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Ramsden. They had three sons. Craig was ten, John was seven and Matt was four. Craig, John and Matt were good friends with three other boys in town. Mr. and Mrs. Ramsden were friends with one or both of these boys’ parents and they had all grown up together. Chris, Shawn and Jason. It was new to have a little girl introduced into the mix. Their town wasn’t the best town to be living in. Nearly everyone between the ages of thirteen and twenty-five either carried a gun or a blade. With the thought that it was for protection; though it didn’t always turn out that way. The town wasn’t exactly poor; they had enough money for their bills and groceries. Although there was little to no disposable income. Sam grew up with these boys and they all kept an eye on her. Besides Matt, she and Jason were the youngest, so everyone looked out for them, even more so than Matt. They felt that Matt could more or less take care of himself. They looked out for Jason more because he was very shy and as he got older could be a nervous wreck. They looked out for Sam more because she’s a girl. Simple as that; that’s what they all said. In February 1964 tragedy hit the Ramsden family. Four months before Sam turned sixteen her adoptive parents were killed in a car wreck by a drunk driver. Craig refused to have their family split up. He became John, Sam and Matt’s legal guardian.
